Horticultural firm in 4m agency talks

BYLN:

Miracle Garden Care is holding secret talks with agencies over its 4m UK advertising account.

The horticultural company is believed to have talked to eight shops over the past two weeks, which insiders say include GGK, DFSD Bozell and Banks Hoggins O’Shea. Talks are being conducted by Horace Hagedorn, the US chief executive of Miracle Garden Care.

Sources say the talks will result in the entire creative and media buying business going to a single agency. The company’s horticultural brands are, at present, split between a number of shops including Cogent and John Bowler Associates.

A decision is expected this week and the winning agency will handle all brands, including Miracle Gro Plant Food, Grass Hopper, Pathclear, Weedol and Bug Gun.
