Molson revs up for Harley bike push

Molson Breweries is giving away a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle worth 14,000 in a promotion which runs until the end of September. The “Hot Bike, Cold Beer” promotion is running in more than 2,000 on and off-trade outlets.

Consumers must collect two bottle tops from either Molson Special Dry or Molson Ice Beer, answer a “skill and judgment” question and hand back their entry to the licensee or retailer.

Trade customers can also participate by sending their customers’ entries in a Molson freepost promotional envelope, which gives them a chance to win one of five leather jackets through a prize draw.

The promotion is being supported by a national press and trade ad campaign, point-of-sale material and a new range of clothes labelled the Molson Classics.

Shell has launched a major promotion giving customers the opportunity to become an instant “Air Miles Millionaire” and travel free of charge for a number of years.

During the promotion, which continues until September 25, customers will be entered into a prize draw every time they use their Smart Card at participating Shell service stations.

There is no restriction on the number of entries each person is allowed to make. The top award in the prize draw is 1 million Air Miles – enough to take the winner to Paris every weekend for the next 42 years.

Shell is also offering more than 10,000 runner-up prizes, including breaks in New York on Concorde, prizes of 1,100 Air Miles, tickets to Tussauds Group attractions including Alton Towers and thousands of “two nights for the price of one” hotel breaks.

The promotion is being supported by point-of-sale material and a public relations campaign aimed mainly at the regional media.
