BDDH secures 3.5m Savacentre business

Butterfield Day Devito Hockney has scooped the 3.5m Savacentre hypermarket account and is understood to be near to picking up the 1.5m News EyeQ business on-line news service.

BDDH is understood to have beaten Mustoe Merriman Herring Levy and Delaney Fletcher Bozell to win the Savacentre account.

The Sainsbury-owned retailer began to review its account following the collapse in August of its previous agency, Woollams Moira Gaskin O’Malley.

Savacentre spent 2.5m last year, but will increase its spend to 3m for the year beginning in March.

Advertising will encompass TV, radio and press work, as well as through-the-line campaigns.

BDDH will work on building the Savacentre brand as well as producing work for individual stores. The chain has 12 stores with a turnover last year of 850m.

The agency is also understood to be on the verge of picking up the 1.5m News EyeQ account – Nl’s Internet news service.
