Steer away from fantastic prices

Regarding the article Fantasy Football chases sponsors (MW April 23). Am I missing something?

No ITV, no commercial World Cup opportunity for Avalon’s Fantasy Football.

Media owners want quality programmes and will happily pay handsome sums for them. They survive on the commercial revenue generated from their product; if that opportunity is taken from them then commercial broadcasters quite simply have to take it into account when negotiating the purchase price for the programming.

Production companies may be intent on wagging the dog, but should ensure they don’t bite off the hand that feeds their own.

Woof, woof, growl, snarl.
