The Diary was tickled to learn that Mirror Group chief executive David Montgomery is planning to protest to the Press Complaints Commission about the media coverage of events surrounding the relaunch of the Sporting Life.
Nothing wildly amusing about that you might think. But journalist Tom Clarke, former editor of the Sporting Life, was singled out by him as one of the worst offenders.
Could that be the same Tom Clarke who is one of 16 worthies sitting on the Press Complaints Commission panel?
