Bulmer rolls out livery for Woodpecker

HP Bulmer has painted an entire Tyneside metro train as part of a new advertising campaign for Woodpecker cider.

The four-carriage train will carry the advertising, devised by Mellors Reay & Partners, for the next 12 months.

The campaign, which will also include radio and outdoor poster work, will focus on Woodpecker’s alternative slant on life, using the slogan: “Woodpecker, the Canny Cider Life.”

HP Bulmer marketing manager Janette Barratt says: “The Woodpecker train adds some fun to travelling on the metro, and will drive brand awareness in the region. It makes for exceptionally innovative and effective brand advertising. In fact, many young people will be using the train when they head into town for a night out.”

Woodpecker is a medium sweet cider and is growing at a rate of six per cent in the on-trade and two per cent in the take-home sector.
