Tango plots orange Xmas in Regent St

Tango will turn London’s Regent Street orange this Christmas with a sponsored display of festive lights to be switched on by chart-topping girl band All Saints.

When the lights are switched on on November 17, a blizzard of fake orange snow will be blasted from the rooftops. The event, organised in conjunction with the Regent Street Association, will be captured live on TV.

Earlier, an open-top bus with the bald “Tango Man” on board will lead a procession of five orange bubble cars down Regent Street.

Britvic Soft Drinks, which makes Tango, has paid more than 100,000 to sponsor the lights. The company will also throw a tea party for children from NCH Action For Children.

Britvic’s marketing director Andrew Marsden says: “Hopefully, the sponsorship will associate Tango with a bit of fun.”
