Westminster caught up in C5 saucy thong

Channel 5 staff had to make a last minute dash up the motorway after its latest offering in late-night entertainment – a male strip contest – was deemed too saucy by Westminster Council.

The competition, called “A thong for Europe”, featured eight strapping young men from all over the continent getting their kit off.

It was due to be held at the Hippodrome nightclub in central London. But the show, to be televised on May 6, was ruled too risqué to be held without a special licence, forcing C5 to hurriedly change its plans and switch the venue to a nightclub in Batley, near Leeds.

Could “A thong for Europe” do for Batley what The Full Monty did for Sheffield?
