Brutal images bring Ulster issue home

I couldn’t help but notice the dichotomies in your “Undertaking Ulster” story (MW November 11).

At first sight we are treated to a picture of a fresh-faced boy, the line “Northern Irish humour” and shots of sunset bliss.

But these are juxtaposed with a biting – and slightly insensitive – headline conjuring up the deadliest of images.

Turning the page, I was taken aback by what I can only describe as the most harrowing scenes ever seen in your publication. Well done.
