Feather Brooksbank wins £10m Bank of Scotland

Bank of Scotland has appointed Feather Brooksbank to its £10m media buying and planning account.

The agency was appointed after a four-way pitch involving MediaVest Manchester, CIA Medianetwork Scotland and Universal McCann Manchester.

Bank of Scotland media buying and planning has previously been divided between Conquest’s media division and Feather Brooksbank.

The appointment follows the consolidation of Bank of Scotland’s creative account into a WPP team led by Conquest (MW December 2).

Incumbents McCann-Erickson, Bartle Bogle Hegarty and the Leith agency also pitched for the creative account. Conquest’s first creative campaign will break next year and use the full range of media including press, radio and TV. It is understood that it will create a more coherent Bank of Scotland brand.

The account win is Feather Brooksbank’s first since it was taken over by the Carat group in a £7.5m deal. Bank of Scotland is competing with Royal Bank of Scotland to take over NatWest. Its £22bn bid for NatWest has been approved by trade secretary Stephen Byers and a final decision on NatWest’s future is expected early next year.
