Pizza Hut hires UK head of marketing

Pizza Hut has named US marketing chief Bill Ogle as its new UK marketing director.

He replaces David Lundholm, who is leaving to take up a senior role at another company after 18 months in the position.

Lundholm has been at Pizza Hut’s parent company, Tricon Restaurants International (TRI), for ten years, and was previously marketing director for Southern Europe and North Africa. TRI, which split from PepsiCo in 1997, also owns Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell.

Ogle, who starts his new job next month, has been marketing director for Pizza Hut in the US for over two years. He was previously a director at US firm Arby’s Roast Beef Franchise and a brand manager at Procter & Gamble.

Ogle will report to senior Pizza Hut management in the US.

Pizza Hut’s results for the year ending September 1999 were described as being “flat” in reports at the time.

Pizza Hut’s UK creative account is handled by Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO. Ogle is not expected to launch a review.
