TBWA wins £10m natural health dot-com business

ClickMango.com, the natural health product e-tailer which claims it will be spending &£10m on advertising this year, has handed its creative account to TBWA GGT Simons Palmer.

The e-tailer has appointed David Caswell as its marketing director. He joins from Walt Disney TV, where he is European marketing manager. Before joining Disney Caswell was at EMI and a brand manager of Brooke Bond Tea.

TBWA pitched against Rainey Kelly/Y&R, Bartle Bogle Hegarty and Leo Burnett. It will develop an ad campaign that will include TV and press.

The site launches in April, and was co-founded by Toby Rowland – the son of Lonrho Tycoon Tiny – and Richard Norton. Rowland previously worked on data mining at Disney. Norton was business development director at AOL.

Rowland says: “We will be looking to launch the bulk of the advertising in the autumn, when we will be on TV.” Rowland, who worked with Caswell at Disney, said he would be appointing a media agency in the next two weeks.

The site, which will specialise in products such as vitamins, alternative medicine and health foods, secured funding from Atlas Venture and the Rothschild family.

Last November, brand consultants Wolff Olins was appointed to develop ClickMango’s logo, and Web agency Net Decisions was given the task of developing the site.
