WebRewards strikes US online lottery deal

WebRewards, the online loyalty specialist and UK operation of Germany’s Webmiles, has struck a partnership with LuckySurf.com, a US-based lottery site which offers a daily chance to win $1m (£680,000).

In line with similar deals signed between LuckySurf and AltaVista and LineOne, users of the WebRewards site will now be eligible to enter the $1m prize draw. In addition, they will also be able to win WebRewards points for matching three or more numbers.

WebRewards joint managing director Mark Read says the deal is “good news for our members and partners. We chose to work with LuckySurf because it can tailor its offering to the UK market and our look and feel.” He adds that he likes “the solidity of their technical solution.”

LuckySurf co-founder Pierre Achach adds: “We are aggressively pursuing the UK market, where online gaming has been exploding. Our partnership with WebRewards perfectly fits into our global strategy.”

WebRewards was launched in May last year. It has signed up more than 25 partners, including Carphone Warehouse, Sports.com and Moneygator. Its German parent, Webmiles, claims over 750,000 members throughout Europe.

LuckSurf claims to be consistently one of the top two most popular US lottery sites. It has awarded cash and prizes to more than 2 million winners.
