As clubbers get First Choice man

The Ministry of Sound has hired First Choice marketer Kevin Currie to head its Clubbers’ Guide to Travel brand.

Currie has joined the nightclub group as head of the holiday division, which is run in conjunction with tour operator Cosmos.

At First Choice, Currie was product group manager in charge of various holiday brands.

In the newly created position, Currie will report to Ministry of Sound marketing and creative director Mark Rodol.

Clubbers’ Guide to Travel was previously managed by Ministry’s brand development director Ashley Peniston-Bird, who has now left the company (MW January 25). Ministry has not yet replaced him.

Currie says he will manage the relationship between Cosmos and Ministry. He will also be responsible for all of the brand’s marketing. Clubbers Guide to Travel is an initiative that was set up between the two companies last year.

Its first holiday will be at the end of March at a resort in the Austrian Alps. From May the company will be running holidays to clubbing hot-spots in Corfu, Cyprus, Ibiza and Majorca.
