Axa Sun Life poaches Lloyds TSB e-marketing chief

Lloyds TSB head of group e-marketing Andreas Wasmuht has been appointed head of e-commerce at insurance company Axa Sun Life.

Wasmuht will implement an e-business marketing strategy and look at how the company’s website handles its business-to-consumer and business-to-business customers. His work will cover Axa Sun Life, Axa Insurance and PPP Healthcare.

Lloyds TSB says it is considering whether to replace Wasmuht.

Wasmuht was responsible for Lloyds TSB’s new media channels and oversaw the introduction of television banking through Telewest Broadband’s service to its 400,000 customers.

Wasmuht had spent several years with Lloyds TSB, starting out as service quality manager.

The move is part of Axa’s plans to bolster its marketing department. It has also appointed Misys Interactive Trading head of banking John Willcock as head of investment and protection markets.

At the same time, Centrica’s head of customer intelligence, Mark Hanson, has been appointed as head of knowledge management. All three will report to director of marketing Frank Wilson.

In September, Axa Sun Life Direct, the direct selling arm of the company, appointed Proximity London to its &10m direct marketing account. Direct marketing for the Axa brand is handled by Rapier. Corporate advertising is through TBWA/London.
