DFGW has created a &£10m advertising campaign for the BBC’s digital services, entitled ‘The Changing Face of TV’. The campaign, which launches on November 4 across television, press and outdoor, is to promote all eight of the BBC’s digital TV channels. The campaign will feature TV personalities including Alan Hansen and John Simpson as well as characters from children’s programme the Tweenies, who talk about the highlights of each channel. Each face will transform into the next character across the sequence. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness about the BBC digital line-up and encourage take-up among homes that have not yet signed up for digital TV. The work was overseen by BBC director of marketing and communications Andy Duncan. The new campaign has been planned so that it breaks just after this week’s launch of Freeview, the BBC’s new free-to-view digital terrestrial TV service.
