Manchester Airport seeks new marketer

Manchester Airport, which is rapidly signing up new airline business, is looking for a head of marketing.

The new position carries full responsibility for marketing decisions and agency relationships. Whoever gets the job will report to managing director John Spooner.

Job responsibilities include building closer relationships with airlines and devising and implementing an e-commerce strategy.

Advertising for the airport, part of the independently owned Manchester Airport Group, is handled by BDH/TBWA, with media planning and buying by Mediaedge:CIAManchester.

Commercial marketing and brand development manager Sara Joyce has overseen marketing functions for the past year. Prior to this, they were handled by general marketing manager Helen Fothergill, who left to take up a marketing position with the Commonwealth Games.

The airport is also looking for a head of commercial development to maximise non-aviation revenues.
