Former Pot Noodle chief moves up

Unilever Bestfoods has promoted former Pot Noodle marketer Paula Quazi to business director for savoury and dressings in the UK.

She replaces Chris Springford, who became managing director of Unilever Bestfoods Australasia earlier this month (MW February 5).

Quazi, who has already taken over the role, has overall responsibility for a range of brands including Pot Noodle, Colman’s, Hellmann’s, Bertolli and Knorr. She will be responsible for overseeing marketing and new product development, including the growth of Knorr and Hellmann’s as power brands in the UK.

Quazi has been with Unilever since 1990 and has held a variety of marketing roles, including marketing manager for Batchelors, where she worked on the Super Noodles range, before it was sold to Campbell Grocery Products. She later went on to work on Pot Noodle and was involved in the controversial “Slag of all Snacks” advertising campaign.
