You can’t fault Ford’s press office for ambition. The company’s clever use of language puts the Prime Minister to shame. Take last week’s announcement of the partial closure of the company’s historic Browns Lane plant. The press release was headed ‘Plan announced to put Jaguar back on track’. And contained the announcement that ‘the Jaguar brand will withdraw from Formula One at the end of 2004.’ Beautiful.
