WPP consultancy picks chief for new global team

WPP Group-owned brand and research consultancy Added Value has promoted group chairman Paul McGowan to head a new global management team.

Global chief executive Tamara Ingram has created the global clients division following the consultancy’s amalgamation with sister companies Icon Brand Navigation and Diagnostic Research (MW October 28). Ingram was appointed by WPP to run the insight, information and consultancy division Kantar two years ago, as WPP announced plans to internationalise the Kantar Group’s offering.

McGowan, as global clients chief executive, will report to Ingram and will be responsible for developing and driving key client strategies. The new management team aims to provide customers, which include Vodafone, SABMiller and Wrigley, with better access to its enlarged marketing services and staff.

Other key appointments include David Nichols, who has been promoted to global client director, while Janine Hawkins steps up to become UK chief executive and global talent director. Lucy Richardson and Marie Ridgley, two senior directors, replace the pair as UK managing director and deputy UK managing director.

Added Value is now one of WPP Kantar division’s largest operations with 212 offices across 13 companies.
