SBS appoints Reading Room for online task

The Small Business Service (SBS), the Department of Trade and Industry agency that promotes small businesses, has appointed Reading Room as its digital design agency.

Reading Room will work with SBS to provide design solutions that make the SBS website and online services easier to use. The agency will initially concentrate on the businesslink.gov.uk portal, with the aim of providing a “one-stop shop” to provide small businesses with easy access to the vast quantity of information and services on offer.

The SBS has been given the task of fostering an enterprise culture in the UK by helping small businesses to start up and then grow. Its responsibilities include ensuring that government support services (including access to finance) are easy to find, relevant and of high quality. It also makes special efforts to encourage representatives of minority groups to establish businesses.
