EDF Energy has announced a 19% hike in gas prices and an 8% rise in electricity prices. French-owned EDF says the rises were caused by the jump in wholesale prices of gas and oil. In March, the firm raised electricity prices by 4.7% and gas by 14.6%.
The retailer, which has traditionally focused on in-store shopping only, also plans to roll out its click-and-collect initiative to all stores in Great Britain.
