John Ayling & Associates (JAA) has signed a deal with digital media specialist EquiMedia to boost the agency’s online offering.

The partnership follows a 12-month trial during which EquiMedia planned and bought online campaigns for several JAA clients, including Barnardo’s and the RSPB.

JAA deputy managing director Rob Stephens says/ “Our ability to integrate traditional media planning with digital marketing techniques is vital to our ability to continue to deliver the best service available for our clients.”

EquiMedia launched in 2000 and its clients include First Plus, Esure and Halifax. It was appointed to handle the £500,000 online account for home improvement company Everest in the summer (MW June 22).

JAA, which is owned by John Ayling and is one of the last media independents, was appointed to handle the media planning and buying for JCB, the construction and agricultural equipment manufacturer, last month (MW November 23). It also won the £1m media planning and buying account for online savings account Icesave.co.uk in October (MW October 12).

Earlier this year, JAA signed a deal with Souk to allow the integrated agency to launch a media division.
