Hunton joins Y&R to run Land Rover

Land Rover

Chris Hunton, the former managing director of Lowe, is joining Y&R to head up the global Land Rover account. He is due to take over the role next week.

Hunton has been without a job since November after his role at Lowe was scrapped following the arrival of the agency’s new chief executive Amanda Walsh.

He had been at Lowe since 2005 after a brief spell at Quiet Storm. He was hired by Walsh’s predecessor Garry Lace. Hunton is also a former chief executive of McCann Erickson London but left the agency in 2004 after five years. During his tenure at McCann Erickson, he was credited with building strong relationships with clients including Bacardi and Mastercard. At Lowe he was credited with leading successful pitches for the 13m John Lewis account.
