K-C raids Pfizer for North Atlantic president

Personal care giant Kimberly-Clark (K-C) has appointed Gordon Knapp, the head of Pfizer’s North American healthcare business, as president of its North Atlantic family care division.

Knapp replaces Dan Smith, who is retiring from the role at the end of May after 27 years with the company, and he will report directly to K-C group president of North Atlantic consumer products Steven Kalmanson.

Knapp will be responsible for identifying strategic growth and innovation opportunities across the company’s North American and European family care operation, which includes tissue brands Kleenex and Andrex.

At Pfizer, Knapp was responsible for the company’s retail and professional sales and marketing divisions as well as finance and human resources. Prior to that he oversaw the company’s consumer healthcare businesses in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Australia.
