Burger King explores the dark side

Burger King is introducing a Dark Whopper and web-shaped fries as part of its campaign to support the launch of Spider-Man 3. The new menu items will be supported by Spider-Man-themed TV ads, which will break on May 1.

The limited edition Dark Whopper has been inspired by the black suit that the superhero wears in the latest film. The burger is made with cracked black pepper ketchup and melted cracked black pepper cheese and will be served with web-shaped fries and a free Coke Zero.

The advertising, which has been created by US-agency Crispin Porter Bogusky, is based around Spider-Man’s struggle with his dark side as he is transformed by his black suit.

The fast food chain is also giving away toys based in the characters with its Kid’s Meals.
