Goodfella’s Mooney to head sauces marketing at Heinz

Heinz has appointed Adrian Mooney as marketing director for its sauces portfolio, including the iconic Heinz Tomato Ketchup and Salad Cream brands. He takes over the role imminently.

He will be responsible for driving growth across the sauces business, which also includes Lea & Perrins, and will report to Heinz chief marketing officer, Suzanne Douglas.

Mooney joins the grocery giant from Goodfella’s, where he was marketing manager. He was responsible for the launch of Goodfella’s Solos, which to tap into the demand for single-serve products. He has also held roles at Remington and Tate & Lyle.

His appointment comes as Heinz is reviewing its £12m advertising business. It is understood that Lowe, Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO, DDB London and Bartle Bogle Hegarty. The pitch was called at the start of June after changes at McCann Worldgroup, the parent company of London agency McCann Erickson, led to an emergency of a “conflict of interest”.
