The Mission Group acquires digital agency

The Mission Marketing Group has bought Story, the Edinburgh-based direct response and digital agency for £6.9 million. It is the group’s third acquisition in recent months.

The acquisition of Story aims to establish themission in digital and direct marketing and expand its regional presence.. The agency currently focuses on the luxury foods and financial services sectors with clients such as Scottish and Newcastle, the Glenmorangie Company, LVMH, Ulster Bank ROI and M&S Money.

themission chief executive Iain Ferguson says that the deal “completes a wonderful hat-trick” and that it will add “additional depth and expertise to the group”.

The company acquired IT marketing agency April-Six and property marketing company thinkBDW earlier in the year. The group also owns Bray Leino, Big Communications and Fuse Digital.

Story was launched in 2002 and all staff will join themission. Sue Mullen, a co-founder of the agency, says: “We’ve seen the benefits that other agencies have gained from becoming part of this network and look forward to leveraging themission’s geographical coverage and range of services.”
