Waitrose campaign thanks Mourinho

Waitrose is launching a press campaign today (Thursday) in response to comments made by Jose Mourinho (pictured) about the quality of the supermarket’s eggs on the same day the Chelsea manager parted company with the club.

Mourinho’s analogy about some eggs being more expensive than others and the “class one eggs” only being available at Waitrose is repeated in the campaign, which will run in the Evening Standard tonight.

The ad, which has been created by Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw, goes on to say: “Thank you Mr Mourinho. It’s always nice to know that someone out there appreciates your hard work, isn’t it? Of course, it’s not just our eggs that are first class, as you’ll discover if you pop into our branch on King’s Road, Chelsea.”

Mourinho parted company with Chelsea this morning by “mutual consent”.
