UPDATE:†LG Electronics has appointed Bartle Bogle Hegarty to handle its £100m global advertising business. It is understood that the agency will work with Publicis, which also involved in the pitch.

The agencies pitched against DDB London and TBWA†Group. It is not clear how the account will split between the two agencies. It is thought BBH will handle the bulk of the business but will work with Publicis, which owns 49% of the agency, in some regions.

Incumbent agency Euro RSCG’s grip on the business was thrown into doubt after LG appointed DDB New Zealand to launch its Shine handset last November (MW November 23, 2006).
