VW website wins award for DDB

Tribal DDB won February’s Internet Advertising Bureau and MDAS Creative Showcase Award with the launch of Volkswagen.co.uk. This heralded a new approach in the web’s role in selling cars for Volkswagen, built to offer the most realistic experience on the web of what it’s like to sit in and walk around a Volkswagen.

The first runner-up was Lean Mean Fighting Machine with its latest Emirates campaign, “Keep Discovering”. The ads open with an unbranded piece of film and are guided by the cursor to a “hotspot”; this switches the film to the point of view of someone carrying out the actions depicted in the film.

Lowe Brindfors is the second runner-up with the new UK website for beer brand Artois. It aims to bring the campaign strapline, “Pass on Something Good” and bring it to live with an interactive animated film, which doubles as the navigation of the site. Throughout the film, the brewmaster passes on something good – the beer – from one scene to the next.
