Ex Aveda marketer to head Crabtree & Evelyns EMEA marketing

Crabtree & Evelyn has appointed former Aveda marketer Bretton Essex-Evans as it top marketer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The company has also appointed Peter Brown as sales director of its retail operation.

Crabtree & Evelyn has appointed former Aveda marketer Bretton Essex-Evans as it top marketer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The company has also appointed Peter Brown as sales director of its retail operation.

Essex-Evans, who will be marketing manager, will lead a team of seven marketers and will report to managing director, Catie Callender, who joined the company in October last year.

Essex-Evans joins from training body City & Guilds where he delivered global marketing programmes. Prior to that he was senior consumer marketer for Estee Lauder’s botanical beauty brand, Aveda, based in New York. It is thought that Crabtree & Evelyn, historically strong in the gift sector, is looking to increase beauty products market.

The company is also planning to ramp up its UK retail operation with the appointment of Brown, who joins from Molton Brown and has previously held roles at Body Shop and Asda.
