Added Value loses global chief exec to Thomas Cook

Added Value global chief executive Angus Porter is leaving to join travel company Thomas Cook as group strategy director. He will be replaced at the WPP-owned brand consultancy by Janine Hawkins, global chief executive of people and organisations.

Porter will depart on June 1, after serving almost three years in the role. He oversaw the restructure of the company last year, when he brought the UK into its centralised European business (MW.co.uk February 26, 2007). Hawkins has been with Added Value since 1995.

Porter joined in 2005, three months after quitting as customer director of Abbey, where he was responsible from its rebrand from Abbey National (MW.co.uk September 8, 2005). He also held top marketing positions at Mars and BT, launching Mars’ Celebrations and BT’s consumer broadband services.

Added Value is part of Kantar Group which is the information, insight and consultancy arm of WPP. The company has offices in 15 countries and serves as a brand development, research and insight partner to clients including AT&T, Vodafone, Pepsi, SABMiller, Colgate, Deutsche Bahn and Allianz.
