Telegraph creates digital supremo role

Telegraph Media Group is bringing all its digital operations under the control of Mike Moore, who is promoted to the new post of digital general manager. The move is part of the newspaper group’s continuing operational restructure, to capitalise on digital growth.

The group says Moore will drive TMG’s monetisation strategy for digital content “in a significant break from the traditional UK national newspaper model”. It says the change will also allow TMG to build on its recent digital growth, with more than 18 million unique users globally.

Moore’s responsibilities will include digital marketing, communities and syndication. Commercial director Dave King’s department will take over responsibilities for CRM and enterprises, while newspaper promotion marketing will move to the newspaper sales department headed by Steve McLauglin.

Moore joined the company as executive director of consumer markets eight months ago from AOL. In February, he shifted the group’s media planning and buying business to Carat from Universal McCann.
