Change at top for Miller Brands

Miller Brands, a subsidiary of SABMiller, has promoted sales director Nick Miller to managing director. He will replace Gary Whitlie, who is leaving to join its Hungarian business, Dreher Breweries, in the same role.

Miller, who takes over the role in October, will be responsible for the developing the company’s international premium brands across the UK, including Peroni Nastro Azzuro, Pilsner Urquell and Miller Genuine Draft.

He joined the company in October 2005 and has over 20 years experience in the brewing industry including at Coors and Bass.

Miller Brands was launched three years ago as a new operating company to manage the sales, marketing and distribution of Peroni Nastro Azzuro, Pilsner Urquell and Miller Genuine Draft and Castle Lager in the UK. At the time, SABMiller announced an initial investment of £30m over two years in an attempt to increase its share of the premium beer market.
