Bebo pulls funding for online video

Bebo has pulled out of funding any more original online video series, according to reports.

The social network site, which has previously produced series such as KateModern, Lonelygirl15 and Sofia’s Diary, will instead only commission content which is funded by advertisers. Bebo European MD Kate Burns reportedly said she is not prepared to risk financing original video content.

Video division Bebo Originals still plans to make another two series this year, which will be fully ad-funded.
