Discovery Networks EMEA appoints sales director

Discovery Networks EMEA has appointed Kathy Toher to the position of director, international advertising sales.

She will join from Passionato, a specialist classical music download site that launched in September 2008, where she served as head of advertising sales and promotions.

In her new role, she will cover Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Toher has been charged with developing an advertising sales strategy for Discovery’s portfolio of channels. Her focus will be on increasing pan-EMEA and international advertising sales and brand partnerships.

Toher has worked in media sales and account management for the past 20 years. She had stints at Thames TV and Channel 4 where she held the position of sales group manager.

Discovery Networks EMEA is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and distributes 14 brands to 190 million cumulative subscribers in 103 countries, with programming customised in 24 languages.
