Trillium expands data governance offerings

Alongside the launch of version 12 of its data quality application, Harte-Hanks Trillium Software has introduced a new suite of data governance consulting services. Trillium Consulting will bring collaborative consulting and implementation methodologies to bear on the introduction of DG structures into business.

“The recession has focused people on internal resources, like data and how to use it more effectively,” says Ed Wrazen, vice-president of international marketing at Trillium. “Data management and data quality are often seen as purely IT issues. You get a lot of benefit if you get the long term data strategy right.”

Data governance demands top level management awareness in order to push through the necessary process changes. Supporting technology is often required to enable staff to keep data clean, accurate and aligned to the DG strategy.

“In version 12, our focus is on enterprise-wide data governance and data quality,” says Wrazen. The solution introduces ActiveEnterprise Resources to provide a platform for operationalising data quality in real-time as well as including master data management, risk and compliance tools. Data quality dashboards and reporting tools have been added to support data stewards and DG teams.

“We leverage service-oriented architecture to support data quality analysis by allowing integration with key business systems like SAP, Siebel and Oracle,” says Wrazen. “Our data quality tools can be easily manipulated and deployed into those target applications.”
