The island’s tourism body recently worked with FivebyFive digital of Southampton to develop the “Just add water” campaign of the past 12 months.

Isle of Wight is now tendering a three year creative services contract with an estimated £750,000 budget over the period. The island’s council is poised to name a media agency to handle media palnning and buying for all its departments, including tourism.

The creative pitch will be overseen by head of communications Claire Robertson and assistant director John Metcalfe while procurement officer Amanda Durnam is handling the initial stages of the process.

The island has a 60 mile coastline which includes two stretches of “Heritage Coast” and sailing events held on the island include Cowes Week. Other events on the island include the Isle of Wight Festival and the Bestival music event.

Outdoor pursuits promoted by the tourism office include walking, cycling and birdwatching. More than half the island is designated an Area of Outstanding National Beauty.
