PartyGaming hires Robinson from 888 as top marketer goes

PartyGaming, the online gambling company, has replaced its chief marketing officer and hired a UK marketing head.

John Welch has been named CMO of the Gibraltar-based firm that owns PartyPoker, PartyCasino and PartyBingo, while former 888.com vice president of brand marketing Matt Robinson joins in a new role as head of UK marketing operations.

Welch, previously European managing director of Centrebet, replaces John Salmon. It is not known whether Salmon, who joined PartyGaming only 11 months ago, has a job to go to.

Robinson is believed to have been on gardening leave from 888.com since leaving in May. In his five years there he was credited with launching the 888.com brand in the UK before taking responsibility for global branding, sponsorships and advertiser funded programming.
