Online gambling group deploys analytical database

A leading gambling group has introduced a new analytical database to drive intelligence about its business. Bet365 implemented the 10TB WX2 analytical database from Kognitio into its existing data centre without needing to acquire additional proprietary hardware, thereby achieving “speed to value” in just three months.

“We decided we needed a powerful analytical engine to understand our business and we went out to the market to find a resilient database technology that would we could start using quickly,” said Martin Davies, chief technology officer at bet365. “Once we had placed our order, we installed the software on pre-existing hardware in our data centre and, with the help of Kognitio, we went online with our 10TB system within just ten weeks.”

To support the rapid deployment, Kognitio undertook extra development and created additional functionality within WX2 to meet bet365’s requirements. Close working with Kognitio’s management team meant the business was enabled with insights and results to drive its business, rather than having to manage shortcomings in the database.
