Honda print ad takes top newspaper advertising award

The top prize at the Annas newspaper advertising awards has gone to Wieden & Kennedy for its Honda “Bacon” ad.

The ad was part of a campaign highlighting the impact on the workforce and wider community of the car manufacturer’s plant starting up again and took the Winner of Winners trophy.

The winning creative team was awarded a £25,000 prize. Maureen Duffy, CEO of the Newspaper Marketing Agency, which runs the Annas, says: “This ad sums up how well topical advertising works in national newspapers”

The Creative Media partnership Award went to Wieden & Kennedy and Carat for the Lurpak “Saturday is Breakfast Day” campaign.

The Copywriting Award went to Publicis for the “Plasticene” campaign on behalf of CWDC/COI.

The Art Direction Award went to Bartle Bogle Hegarty for “FA Cup Milkman” on behalf of ITV.

The Online Award went to Agency Republic and i-Level for “Smoke-Free Generation”.

The Topicality Award went to Leagas Delaney and MPG for “Solid” on behalf into Nationwide.
