He joins from LG Electronics Europe where he has been European marketing director for the home entertainment-media division since September 2008.

In his new role, Trueman will be responsible for coordinating UK and Ireland brand and product marketing programmes working with an in-house team of 35 category specialists across product marketing and marketing services. He will report to Ward Crawford, chief operating officer and will take up his new post with immediate effect.

Trueman says: “LG UK and Ireland had a phenomenal year in 2009 both in terms of sales and increased market share and we plan to keep our foot on the gas in 2010, with exciting new product introductions and broader brand marketing programmes. I’m looking forward to working with colleagues and partner agencies to develop and deliver our new marketing plans.”

“Our ambition is to develop the LG brand as the human face of technology. To achieve this, we will focus our efforts on building marketing programmes that are consumer centric in their approach and will increase levels of relevance and satisfaction for our consumers and customers”
