Samsung appoints ex-Apple marketing head as European brand director

Samsung has appointed former Apple marketer Will Lever as its new European brand director.

Lever has joined Samsung Electronics Europe in his new role straight from a previous role with Best Buy. He is also a former head of marketing for Carphone Warehouse, where he headed The Geek Squad, its technology troubleshooting service.

Prior to Carphone Warehouse, he was head of marketing and communications for Apple UK and Ireland and he is also a former head of consumer marketing at O2.

In autumn last year, Samsung Mobile launched an integrated global marketing campaign to support its new Genio range of mobile phone handsets, which was devised in the UK.

Samsung has also teamed up with online news portal Current Media to invite consumers in the UK to produce the ad campaign for its environmentally friendly touch phone “Blue Earth”.

The electronics firm has also been building campaigns for its notebook range, the latest were for the X-series range of notebooks.
