He has previously worked as VP of wireless and emerging technology at Turner and in the same role at AOL before joining Yahoo in 2005.

According to reports, he doesn’t have a job to go to and is considering a move back to the US.

Rich Riley, senior VP, Yahoo Europe, will take over responsibility for Yahoo’s mobile efforts across Europe.

His departure is the most recent from the Yahoo mobile group. Marco Boerries, Yahoo’s executive VP of the Connected Life division, and Steve Boom, senior VP of Connected Life, are among senior executives to have quit Yahoo’s mobile division in the past 18 months.

A Yahoo spokesman said, “Mitch Lazar is leaving Yahoo to pursue other opportunities, and we wish him the best in his future endeavours.”
