Paddy Power’s retail marketing chief to leave

Paddy Power’s head of retail marketing, Andrew Barclay is to leave the bookmaker to join jewellery firm Pandora.

He will take up the position of UK marketing director at Pandora. A spokesman for Paddy Power confirmed the bookmaker is looking to replace Barclay.

Separately, Paddy Power has unveiled a new television advertising campaign featuring actual blind footballers in a five-a-side match.

One of the players, who all play for England’s blind team, is seen mistaking a cat for a ball and kicks the feline into a tree.

The spot is running to coincide with the end of the football season and the start of the World Cup in June. It pushes the bookmaker’s “Money-Back Specials”, where customers can have their bets returned to them even if they don’t win.

Barclay joined Paddy Power in October 2007. Prior to this, he was five years as head of marketing and PR at retailer Moss Bros.

Pandora was setup in Denmark in 1982. It sells in over 18 countries.
