The agency, part of the Publicis Groupe, won the account following a competitive pitch against undisclosed agencies.

The brand, owned by Pernod Ricard, is bottled, and distributed in the United Kingdom by the company of James Burrough.

Publicis Modem will be Beefeater’s first agency of record, after the brand previously worked on a project-by-project basis.

Work is likely to include a revamp of the gin brand’s website and a new digital marketing strategy, focusing around the brand’s British heritage.

Beefeater’s portfolio of brands include Beefeater London Dry Gin, Beefeater Super Premium 24 and Plymouth Gin.

Beefeater Gin contains nine different botanicals: juniper, angelica root, angelica seeds, coriander seeds, liquorice, almonds, orris root, seville oranges, and lemon peel. These botanicals are steeped for 24 hours before distillation.

In 2009, Beefeater Gin sold more than 2.3 million cases in more than 150 countries.
