Bacardi appoints Unilever’s Lagnado as chief marketer

Bacardi has appointed former Unilever marketer Silvia Lagnado as chief marketing officer.

She will be responsible for the marketing of spirits including master brand Bacardi, Bombay Sapphire and Martini.

According to a Bacardi statement, Lagnado has spent 24 years at Unilever, most recently as global group vice president for savoury.

Prior to this, she was global vice president for Dove, where she is said to have overseen the brand’s “Campaign for real beauty” and also held positions including president of marketing for personal care in the UK and vice president for deodorants in Latin America, UK and Europe.

Lagnado will also be handed the title of president of Bacardi global brands. She will join Bacardi in September and be based in the Bacardi global brands headquarters in London.

She will report to Séamus McBride, president and CEO of Bacardi Limited and chairman of Bacardi International Limited.

Stella David stepped down from the CMO role last August.
