Home Delivery Network has rebranded its entire business as Yodel as it looks to take on the Royal Mail in the parcel delivery sector.

The new name will be applied to both its business to business and consumer services.

The name change comes as the company looks to grab a larger slice of the parcel delivery market from rivals.

HDN acquired DHL’s domestic parcel division in January making it the second largest parcel delivery service in the UK with 17% of the market behind the Royal Mail on 30%.

Jonathan Smith, Yodel CEO, says the rebrand is aimed at positioning the company as a “truly customer focused business offering a full suite of services”.

He adds: “The combined business is already growing faster than the market and we are excited about our future potential.”

Yodel claims that it is picked up over 100 new clients in the past two months. It aims to be the market leader in every industry sector.
