TfL throws brake on marketing agency review

Transport for London has called a halt to its marketing roster review until it has completed a wider audit of its marketing needs and budget.

A TfL spokesperson says: “TfL has recently suspended activity on its marketing roster review while a wider review of marketing activity and budgets is undertaken as part of TfL’s £5bn efficiency programme to safeguard investment in London’s transport network including the Tube upgrades and delivery of Crossrail.

“As responsible advertisers we did not wish to waste agency time by continuing with the roster review pending the outcome of a wider marketing review. There is still time to run on existing agency contracts and we will revisit the roster review later in the year.”

The review was called in May with a view to having an overhauled agency roster in time for marketing ahead of the London 20102 Olympics.

TfL recently promoted Chris Macleod to the position of group marketing director.

In April he took over the role left vacant by Nigel Marson, who departed from the company at the end of last year.
